Our Impressions of New Lodge
The ground is a mixture of development and there certainly better and worse grounds you could visit. The turnstiles are all in the SE corner in Blunts Wall Road. There are four exits, the main one by the turnstiles, 2 at the north end and one to the lower car park. From the turnstiles along the eastern edge is covered terrace up to the half way line, then a small covered stand with approx 150-200 seats (est.) and the dugouts in front. Then follows the clubhouse with it's viewing gallery and the changing rooms.
In the NE corner is the burger bar. Behind the north end is a small covered terrace and some open terrace. The western side has seen the most development in recent years and the central 70% or so is now covered with seats in most of it and terracing in the southern end. The south end has a similar stand to the north behind the goal, plus some open terracing. The burger bar serves good food but gets very crowded at half time. There is often a separate queue for hot food. The clubhouse is open before, at half time and after matches. It's not particularly big (match attendances over 500 will see it packed out) but it's not bad, has a good atmosphere and a huge Sky TV screen. Like most clubhouses and bars though it gets quite smokey. There a plenty of seats.

Walk to the far end of Western Road, and then cross over at the traffic lights into Tye Common Road. Blunts Wall Lane is along on the right hand side.
Local Area around New Lodge
New Lodge is situated on the western edge of the Billericay by a pleasant housing estate and bordered on the east by houses, north and south by fields and the west by Billericay Cricket Club (then fields). There is parking by the cricket club but this is often waterlogged so most people park in Tye Common Road and the adjacent streets. Billericay is a pleasant enough town with plenty of shops, pubs and take-aways. There is a station (15-20 mins walk) and regular buses linking it with Basildon and Chelmsford. Chelmsford City run a coach from Chelmsford Town Centre on match days (call the club for details).
