Our Impressions of Carlisle Grounds
The Carlisle Grounds is the oldest sports ground in the Eircom League. It was originally opened in 1862 as The Carlisle Cricket and Archery Grounds but has become know as the Carlisle Grounds. Various sporting activities have taken place there down through the years . It has been home to several football clubs including Bray Unknowns AFC and Transport AFC. It has been the Home of Bray Wanderers since 1942.
Home Fixtures are generally played on Friday Evenings.
Additional facilities include, Seated Area and Terracing for spectators, Supporters Club Gift Shop open on Match Days, Hot Food on Match Days.
Sweet Shop open on Match Days.
Bray was originally developed in the 19th century as a Seaside Resort and still retains a Seafront Promenade with seaside amusements and selection of Guesthouses and small Hotels.

Directions to Carlisle Grounds
By Road
Head Southeast on the N11 road (dual carriageway) which joins the M11 motorway . When you join the M11 take the 1st exit , when you come to the roundabout take the second exit and you are in Bray. Keep going for about 1km and then take the 1st turn left after the Royal Hotel on Main St and The Carlisle Grounds is at the end of Quinnsboro Road on the left.
By Rail
Take an AirDART bus from the Airport to Howth Junction Dart Station and then take a Southbound Dart to Bray. There is an all inclusive ticket covering the bus and Dart. DART is a suburban train (Dublin Area Rapid Transit Train)
From Dublin City Centre: Distance 20km.
By Rail (Faster than Bus or Road)
Take a southbound DART Train from either of the following City Centre Train Stations Connolly, Tara St or Pearse Stations to Bray. Frequency every 20 mins.
When you come out of Bray Train Station turn right and you can see the Carlisle Grounds about 50metres away.
By Bus
Take either the 45 or 84 bus from Nassau Street (behind Trinity College) to Bray Main Street. Walk down Quinnboro Road situated beside the Royal Hotel on Main St and The Carlisle Grounds is at the end of Quinnsboro Road on the left.
