Our Impressions of War Memorial Sports Ground
The ground itself is a decent ground, with a nice covered end and a spectacular-looking covered terrace. There is also a neat looking main stand. Behind the far goal however is uncovered, so a coat might be advisable if it looks like raining. Most of the fans are pleasant but it is advisable to keep your head down when you walk along the side terrace.
The ground is not of a bad standard and I believe that the club want to carry out development work to get it up to Conference standard. I also understand however that these plans are in jeopardy due to the opposition of local allotment owners!
I was however impressed with other general aspects of the ground, such as the pitch, which was very good considering the adverse weather at the time, and the music played over the tannoy system.

Local Area around War Memorial Sports Ground
[TITLE:Local Area
Carshalton is a fairly nice place. You're unlikely to encounter many problems in the area, although not many local people I met didn't seem to know where Colston Avenue is! It's quite a smart, suburban area.
