Our Impressions of Gresty Road
Our first impression of Gresty Road, was how small it was, but once you take a closer look, you realise that it has been redeveloped to a high standard to accommodate the size of their average crowd.
The whole of the Bluebell Stand is given over to the away fans, and affords unobstructed views, fully covered, and with ample leg room between the rows, which made for a comfortable afternoon. Traveling fans normally get allocated around 800 tickets, and due to the compactness of this stadium there is always a good atmosphere.
With the exception of the 'jobsworth' outside the supporters club, everybody we spoke to from ticket office to stewards were very friendly and helpful.
Food in the ground was average quality, but the prices were quite reasonable, the big bonus being that the kiosk was clean. All too rare at many grounds these days.
Home fans engaged us in friendly conversation outside the shop, and all in all it was one of the more civilised away trips of the season. Well done Crewe, and thanks for a great day!
