Our Impressions of Doncaster Racecourse
Doncaster is the home of one of the world's oldest Classic race, The St. Leger, which was first run in 1776. The four-day Rothmans Royals St. Leger Festival takes place in September. Traditionally, Doncaster begins and ends Britain's Flat Season on turf (in March and November respectively).
Description: A left-handed, flat, galloping pear-shaped track of one mile, seven and half furlongs. A level run-in of four and a half furlongs extends to a straight mile.
Dress code for Member's Enclosure - no jeans or open-necked shirts. Gents must wear jackets and ties.
Accompanied children under 16 years of age are admitted free of charge.
A children's crèche is available in the Family Enclosure.
Directions to Doncaster Racecourse
The sole racecourse in South Yorkshire, Doncaster is situated on Town Moor, just to the east of the town centre, near the Dome Leisure Centre, and within easy access of the A1, M18 and M1. By rail, race goers can use Doncaster Central Station.
