Our Impressions of The Dripping Pan

The Dripping Pan has one stand with seating for 400 ish. There is a club shop selling replica shirts, mugs, scarves etc. There is a club bar and a snack bar which are open throughout the match with the bar open afterwards as well. Food is standard football fare (Burger ?1.80) (Large chips 1.00)[prices season 2001-2002]. The bar provides John Smiths, Stella and Guinness to name my favourites. Access to the ground is fine for disabled and those with pushchairs. There are plenty of places to plant yourself with a good view of the game although cover when raining would be an issue. Children of all ages are welcomed and there are no issues with them running riot in the bar!

The pitch itself is generally in very good condition and we rarely lose matches due to the weather. It is in a natural 'dip' surrounded by steep banks which give spectators good views from every side.

Lewes have just applied for Football Trust money for total redevelopment so hopefully by next season we will have better facilities.

Directions to The Dripping Pan

By Road

The ground is at the very start of Mountfield Road, directly behind the station. If you enter Lewes via the A27 turn-off, be prepared to follow the one way system patiently round in a circle to get to where you need to be!

By Rail

The ground is 1 minute walk from Lewes Train station and 5 minutes walk from the town centre.

There is a car park right beside the ground but you need to arrive before 14.30 on Saturdays to get in. Otherwise parking is available on Mountfield Road itself.
