Our Impressions of Stadium:mk
Stadium:mk is a new multi-purpose all-covered ground, home to the Dons since the start of the 2007 / 2008 season. Currently only the lower tier is used, creating a slightly ‘unfinished look’. When seating is installed in the upper tier, capacity will increase from 22,000 to 32,000.
Away fans are located in the north-east corner of the stadium with space for 3,000 visitors. The seating is great – cushioned seats and backs, views are superb (no pillars to peer round) and the stadium’s ‘bowl’ design means there are no open corners to let cold winter winds blast in. Toilets are huge with wide entrances, soap and paper towels – vastly superior to many grounds.
Away fans enter at gate 3. The stadium has wide automatic turnstiles with barcode ticket reader machines (no purchasing tickets at the turnstiles). Away fans can buy tickets from the booth (cash sales only) between gates 3 and 4 or from the Box Office (credit cards – additional fee applies, debit cards and cash) between gates 6 and 7. Away fans should note that some games may require tickets to be purchased in advance (check with their club).
Flags on poles cannot be taken in; any other flag over 1.5 metres requires a fire certificate!
Stadium:mk is one of the best new grounds in the Football League.

Directions to Stadium:mk
By Road - in general
Set your ‘satnav’ to MK1 1ST; if the code is not recognised use MK1 1BS. Alternatively follow the directions below but take care as most Milton Keynes roads have no adjacent pavements and so there are no pedestrians to ask if you get lost! If in doubt, follow signs for IKEA, Denbigh or Bletchley – not Central Milton Keynes.
From the north
Leave the M1 at junction 14 and take the third exit (A509) signposted Milton Keynes. After 0.4 miles, at the first roundabout, take the second exit (A4146) signposted Milton Keynes South. After 0.5 miles at the next roundabout (Total Garage on the left), take the first exit onto V11 Tongwell Street. Stay on this road for 1.8 miles going straight over two roundabouts. At the third roundabout (called Walnut Tree roundabout), take the third exit onto H9 Groveway. Stay on this road for 2.3 miles, going straight over three roundabouts. At the fourth roundabout (called Redmoor roundabout, over the A5), take the second exit onto V6 Grafton Street, signposted Denbigh / Granby. At the first traffic lights, turn left into the stadium car park.
From the south
Leave the M1 at junction 13 and take the A421 (second exit). After 3.4 miles take the second exit at a roundabout (BP garage on the right) onto H9 Groveway. Stay on this road for 2.5 miles, going straight over four roundabouts. At the fifth roundabout (called Redmoor roundabout, over the A5), take the second exit onto V6 Grafton Street, signposted Denbigh / Granby. At the first traffic lights, turn left into the stadium car park.
From the east
Travelling on the A421 from Bedford or on the A507 from Ampthill, cross the M1 at junction 13. Then follow directions ‘from the south’.
Travelling on the A509 from Wellingborough, cross the M1 at junction 14. Then follow directions ‘from the north’.
From the west
Travelling on the A421 from Buckingham, as you reach Milton Keynes’ outskirts, go straight over the the first roundabout (Bottle Dump roundabout) onto H8 Standing Way. Stay on this road, going straight over four roundabouts for a further 4.3 miles. At the fifth roundabout (called Ashlands roundabout), take the third exit onto V6 Grafton Street. At the next roundabout (called Redmoor roundabout, over the A5), take the third exit, signposted Denbigh / Granby. At the first traffic lights, turn left into the stadium car park.
By Train
The nearest station is Bletchley, one mile and a short walk from the stadium. Arriving at Central Milton Keynes station (four miles from the stadium), locate bus stop 38. Take route 7 (7E in the evening) to the Granby / Denbigh stop opposite the ground (operates every 20 / 30 minutes on Saturdays, hourly in the evening; journey takes 20 / 25 minutes). Alternatively there’s a taxi rank outside the station.
Data supplied by Ian Townsend - 27th November 2008Local Area around Stadium:mk
Local Area
Like most new grounds built on ‘greenfield’ sites, there’s currently no real ‘neighbourhood’. There is an ASDA next to the ground; otherwise it’s a one mile walk into Fenny Stratford / Bletchley for shops, restaurants, etc. Alternatively, there is a vast range of shops and restaurants in Central Milton Keynes (four miles).
Car Parking
The ground has a large car park (2,000 spaces, charge for 2008 / 2009 season - £5 per vehicle). Alternatively park for free on the Granby Industrial Estate to the north west of the ground (off Grafton Street) or Denbigh West Industrial Estate to the south west (off Denbigh Road); both are a 5 minute walk to the stadium. Do not park at ASDA or IKEA – you may get clamped!
Data supplied by Ian Townsend - 27th November 2008Disabled Facilities at Stadium:mk
Facilities for the disabled and their carers are on the concourse level. For wheelchair users, there’s a carer’s seat next to the wheelchair position. With the concourse at the same level as outside the ground, there are no ramps to negotiate.
