Our Impressions of Crabble Athletic Ground
Margate are currently ground sharing with Dover Athletic, while Hartsdown Park is currently being rebuilt.
This ground has a capacity of 6500, of which 1000 are seated.
Directions to Crabble Athletic Ground
Follow the M2/A2 to Dover as far as the Whitfield roundabout (near the Esso petrol station and McDonald's Drive-Thru). Take the fourth exit here, down Whitfield Hill, and at the roundabout turn left and follow this road until the first set of traffic lights. At these lights turn right, down the hill, following the road under the railway bridge, and the ground is just past the bridge.
The main railway station in Dover is Dover Priory which is approximately 2 miles from Crabble. The closest station to Crabble is Kearsney which is about a 10 minute walk.
If you get off at Kearsney, turn right as you leave the station, go under the railway bridge and then take the first road on the right (Lower Road). Follow Lower Road all the way along, past a pond on your right and Crabble Corn Mill on your left. At the end you will see the Cricketers pub on the other side of the road. Turn right and you should see the coaches and stewards outside the ground.
If you get off at Dover Priory it is probably best to get a bus or taxi to the ground as it is a long walk. The D2 (River) bus service, which stops right outside the ground, goes from Worthington Street, opposite the Dover Athletic Club Shop. To get to Worthington Street from the train station, follow the road down to the roundabout at the bottom of Folkestone Road, cross over at the pelican crossing behind McDonald's, go right and it's the second street on the left. Taxis go from outside the train station.
Local Area around Crabble Athletic Ground
The ground is in a residential area, so there are no public car parks. The back streets are currently
not restricted, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find somewhere to park.
