Our Impressions of Rossett Park
As you enter the ground through the car-park, you will immediately be greeted by a man in a white cap. This is Reg Garnett who played for Marine against Nigeria in 1949 and who was featured in the Granada TV series Marine Lives. He will try to flog you a 50/50 ticket. It costs ?1 but you win half of the takings and this is usually 60-70!
To the left is the entrance to the social club. As you enter the foyer you will see a 100 seater lounge to the left. This is open on match days and free to away fans. Ahead of you is a short corridor to our 200 seater concert room. This is hired out for special occasions and is one of the best in non-League. To the right is the snooker room, with two full-sized tables, adjacent to which is a committee room which used by the Management committee and the MSA for meetings and for visiting directors on match days.
Directions to Rossett Park
From M57 or M58
Most supporters will have come off the M57 or M58. These motorways converge at a massive roundabout called Switch Island . The easiest route is to take the A 567 and make sure that Bootle's ground is to your right. At the first set of lights after the ground the most direct route is to continue straight on until you come to a roundabout in Seaforth (approx. 1 mile from the motorway). Take the 3rd main exit. This takes you to another roundabout at Seaforth Docks (the Freeport). At this island, drive 3/4 the way around it and continue for about half a mile until you reach a set of traffic lights (with the Liver Pub to the left just ahead). You will then go through two pedestrian lights before the next set of traffic lights at a crossroads. You will see Merchant Taylor's School ahead. Turn left here. This is College Road and the ground is half a mile on the left. Parking in the club car park is limited to officials and players so try one of the side roads.
This does seem difficult, but the ground is well signposted.
