Our Impressions of Walton Road
Molesey FC play at the Walton Road ground, which is along from the High Street. The main stand, which resembles a cricket pavilion, has a raised tier of seating, and below there are benches. Behind one goal there is no cover, just a railing, which is bad news if it rains, and behind the other goal there is a small metal stand, which can create a good atmosphere. Along the other side, there is a small metal cover which roughly straddles the halfway line, otherwise it is open. I found the Molesey fans to be friendly on my visit.
On my visit there was a match day programme which can be bought in the bar for ?1.
Food can be bought from a kiosk below the tier of seating in the main stand. It is decent and is served at very reasonable prices.
Directions to Walton Road
By Rail
Unfortunately, the nearest Station to the ground is Hampton Court, and it is a very long walk from there to Walton Road, roughly 1.5 miles. You can brave this, or else you can take the 411 bus from a bus stop opposite the station, which will take you along Molesey High Street (B369). If you do want to walk, then the following directions will help:
From the station, cross over into Bridge Road. Continue to walk down this road, past one roundabout, until you get to a bigger roundabout. Then turn right into Walton Road (B369) and walk down this road, right through the High Street past the LORD BOTHAM pub, and the ground should be on your left, at number 412.
