Our Impressions of Bloomfields
The ground was built in 1996, following the allocation of a lottery grant, so therefore, the clubhouse etc are very modern, well thought out, and well worth a visit.
The ground boasts 2 pitches (1 first team, 1 training/reserves), 4 dressing rooms, a function room, modern toilets [no portaloos here, unlike Gillingham], and a bar. There is also a covered stand [see photo] that offers seating for around 250 people, and thankfully is no-smoking. A smaller stand is also offered on the far side of the ground, which offers cover for some 25-30 people.
There is also a tea stall, just inside the entrance to the ground, which serves teas, coffees, choccies etc. The bar contains a pool table, excellent beers, and a very friendly atmosphere, and is well worth a visit prior to, and following the game.
The pitch itself was in excellent condition when we visited, but we understand that during prolonged rain, the conditions do get rather heavy.
And Finally...
We would like to thanks Alan Sparkes (Chairman), and everyone else at Needham Market FC, for offering us such a warm welcome, on what was a difficult day for the club.Directions to Bloomfields
