We visited this ground some time ago (1997), so things have probably changed, but these are our impressions from 1997.
The ground is located in the middle of a large housing estate, with entrances/exits seeming to be in the middle of a row of houses! But, on saying that, the ground facilities where quite good, with all the usual amenities. Your view may be obstructed, depending on your location within the ground, but this is normally the case for non Premier league grounds!
The club offers a very friendly atmosphere, and we quite liked our day out in Southend, although, our team lost 2-0!
At the time, Southend were in Division 1, and this ground did not really fit in with the likes of Molineux, and the Reebok stadium. Now Southend are playing in division 3, and this ground would make a reasonable division 2 ground.
