Our Impressions of Sports Ground
Waltons ground is situated in a pleasant suburban area surrounded by houses, it is a 5 min walk from Walton BR station and 10 mins by car from the M25.
There is one main seating area, which is a small but well built stand that seats approx. 2000 (I think). The biggest crowd was back in 1952, when 10,000 packed into the ground. The main stand houses the team facilities. The 'opposite' terrace is concrete standing area and is well sheltered from the rain and is covered all the length of the pitch, although it can get a bit 'dingy' on cold winters nights. Behind each goal there is stepped terraces with no cover. The ground is also used by Walton athletics club and is surrounded by the usual running track, unfortunately the pitch suffers in the winter and can become quite 'boggy'.
