Our Impressions of Huish Park

Yeovil Town's Huish Park ground is situated near Houndstone Business park.A large housing development is near by which has a precinct with Pub, Convenience shop etc. Yeovil Town is approx 2 miles from the town centre which offers the usual shops, Pubs, Hotels etc.

The completion of the Westland stand a couple of seasons ago, means that Huish Park now has a capacity of approx 9,300, (5,000 seating).

This new, covered terrace stand is the yeovil home end and has a maximum capacity of approx 2,600. There is seating that runs along the pitch both sides, (the Bartlett and Main stand). These are almost identical in size and appearance and each have a capacity of approx 2,500. Away fans are housed in the away terrace which holds around 1,700, however this is open to the elements. It is therefore a sensible idea to gain a seat in the end of the Bartlett stand. About 25% of this stand is allocated to away fans.

The record attendence is 8,868 v Rushden and Diamonds on April 21st 2001. Yeovil average around 3,000 per home game in the conference.

Local Area around Huish Park

Car Parking

There is at present a free car park at Huish park. Supporters are urged NOT TO PARK AROUND the near by housing estate.

The council are hoping to sort out some more travel arrangements to the ground but no details at present.

Disabled Facilities at Huish Park

Parking : Orange Badge holders are permitted to park against the back of the Bartlett Stand and there are more parking spaces reserved for disabled people behind the away end terrace. Access to the ground is generally flat from the reserved spaces.

Inside the ground, wheelchair users are accommodated in 4 bays set into the Bartlett Stand, all bays having room for around 5 wheelchairs and being at ground level. There is no provision for companions or assistants as such, in practice such people tend to sit on the concrete surround of the bays. Access to both snack-bars in the Bartlett Stand is level and flat and there is a disabled toilet beside the snack-bar nearest to the home end terrace.

The club shop is situated underneath the Main Stand opposite the Bartlett Stand and is accessible via a small step. Beware of the camber of the ground outside the Main Stand, it tends to vary a bit!

The club's bars and conference facilities are all situated up several flights of stairs and are therefore inaccessible to wheelchair-users at present.
